Change is a time when you go from the orderly to the unknown. This can happen if you lose a loved one, lose your job, or have a major life event. How do we manage this change?
Change management is a term you may have heard in business. We could define it as how does an organisation transition from one system to another? Experts come in and provide different procedures that can be used to mitigate this change and make it as smooth of a transition as possible.
But when it comes to personal life, we can find change very difficult. It becomes very real in our lives. The question is how do we transition from one way of life to another seamlessly with the least amount of pain and the most amount of growth?
The mechanism that we use at Stress-Less with CALM Coaching is to utilise our biology and physiology to be adaptive and resilient. As we cannot control the timing or the extent of the change we go through, what we have control of is our response and our reaction to the event.
The one thing we all have in common as humans is that we all will suffer from stress; the stress of change or the stress or not changing. Some of us will suffer more severely than others. This suffering can lead to a nihilistic way of thinking. This can create depression, anxiety and many other conditions.
If we get a hold and control the stress, we can collect meaning from the suffering and use it for better our lives. A job loss could open other opportunities. A break up could be time to take a new direction. Celebrate the life of a loved one rather than being consumed by their loss.
This way, you can be strong for you and for your loved ones around you.
Mental Coaching- Gaining control of the mind so that we can mitigate the negative thought patterns, change state and redirect our mental energy towards something positive.
Physical Coaching- Using exercise as a form of physiological stress and training the body to respond better and build a tolerance/resilience to physiological stress.
